Eileen ‘Meam’ Eder, 86 of Center Twp. passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014.Born January 8, 1928, in Monaca, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Christel Grimes Himes, Sr. Following graduation from Monaca High School, Eileen was united in marriage to Robert J. Eder, Sr. on August 7, 1948. The couple moved to Center Township in 1950. A former employee of G.C. Murphy 5 & 10 store in Rochester, Eileen later worked for Center Area. She was a member of Bunker Hill Community Church, Center Township. A longtime collector of angels and hummingbirds, Eileen also enjoyed crocheting, finding bargains at yard sales and camping at Pymatuning and Cook’s Forest.She will be sadly missed by her children, Robert John Eder, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Sugarland, Texas, Christel Ann Anderson and her husband, Edward, of Georgetown and Ronald Eder and his wife, Mary of Red Lion; 11 grandchildren, Tawnya Pearce, Robert Eder III, Colleen Funderburk, Rebecca Gray, Jason Anderson, Christel Mabry, Rachel Davis, Joshua Anderson, Kate Anderson-Colon, Tashina Caputo and Travis Eder; numerous great-grandchildren, a brother, Robert (Charlotte) Nulf of Greentown, Indiana and a longtime friend, Catherine Sochor.In addition to her parents Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Eder, Sr. on December 8, 1999; an infant son, Richard Eder who was a twin of Robert, Jr. and her siblings, John ‘Pork’ Himes, Ernest ‘Skip’ Himes, Naomi Himes and Leila Sabo.Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. Her pastors, Pastor Brandon Padgett and Rev.
