Dorothy M. Markulin, 90, of Bridgewater, a former longtime resident of Monaca, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Masternick Memorial Health Center in New Middletown, Ohio, surrounded by her family.Born September 10, 1925, in Monaca, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Ludmila (Rajniak) Ofcharka. A graduate of Monaca High School, Class of 1943, Dorothy was united in marriage to the late Joseph Markulin, who preceded her in death on January 7, 1995. While she was a stay at home mom she did find employment at Phoenix Glass Co. for seven years. A devout member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Monaca, Dorothy was a member of the church’s Lois Circle.She is survived by three children, Richard J. (Terry Lee) Markulin of Canfield, Ohio, Betty Jane (the late, Charles) Davies of Poland, Ohio and Susan M. Kalcevic in Florida; six grandchildren, Michael (Sheri) Davies of Ft. Worth, Texas, Matthew Davies of Pittsburgh, Rebecca Lee (Brent) Hageman of Canfield, Ohio, Timothy Markulin of Canfield, Ohio and Christopher (Heidi) Komack and Abigail Komack, both in Florida; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Davies and Aiden and Danica Komack; a sister, Mary E. (the late Anthony) Riccardi of Beaver; a sister-in-law, Josie (the late John) Markulin and nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded by her step-father, Martin Sluka.Friends will be received Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Friends are also welcome Thursday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. followed by a service at 10 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Monaca. Her pastor, Rev. Robert W.
