Edward Chismar, 92 of Hopewell Township, was called home by his Lord and Savior on February 17, 2018. Edward died peacefully at his home with his wife and his loving family by his side. Charlotte was Edward’s love of his life and his best friend.
Edward and Charlotte were together for 44 years. Edward was born November 5, 1925, a son of the late Michael and Anna (Dumko) Chismar. He enjoyed gardening, his family, and his dog Noel, were just a few things that were very important and made him happy and fulfilled each and every day.
Preceded in death by a brother, John Chismar of Aliquippa; sisters, Elizabeth Harber of Alaska and Virginia Brenton of Oregon. In addition to his family, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, John Sr. and Jean Merendo of Monaca, and a sister in law, Adele Merendo of Monaca.
He will be sadly missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Louis and Shelly Merendo of Monaca, John Merendo, Jr. of Monaca, Nicholas and Pam Merendo of Freedom, Anthony and Michelle Merendo of Center Twp., Richard and Kelley Merendo of Center Twp.; Special nephews and nieces, Don and Lisa Castell of West Virginia, Derek and Johnene Merendo of Hopewell Twp., Angela Merendo and her fiancée George Nicol of Brighton Twp., Nicholas Merendo of Monaca, Matthew Merendo of Pittsburgh, Joshua Merendo of Center Twp., Bradley and Shayna (Merendo) Bichey of Toledo, Ohio, Melanny Merendo of Center Twp., Tyeler Merendo of Center Twp., and great-nieces and nephews, Austin Merendo of Monaca, Giavonna and Christian Merendo of Hopewell Twp., Bristol Nicol of Brighton Twp., Jaxson Bichey of Toledo, Ohio and Bridgett Biggins of Center Twp., whom he also loved and treated like a niece.
Edward was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of St. George Church, Aliquippa.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 5:30 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, followed by military honors by the U.S. Navy and the Beaver County Special Unit and a blessing service at 5:30 p.m.
