Born in Old Forge, PA, he was the husband of the late Mary (Napolitan) Borowsky, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage. Edward was a graduate of Old Forge (PA) High School and the University of Scranton (PA). He was employed by Allied Chemical & Dye Corp. and retired from Arco Polymers Inc. Ed served his country proudly during World War II as a member of the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Technician 5th Grade. Ed was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca. His Catholic faith was a very important part of his life. He was also a member of the Polish National Alliance in Monaca.
Survivors include his devoted sons, Edward W. Borowsky, Jr. (Linda) of Schenectady, NY, and Joseph A. Borowsky (Judy) of Hopewell Township. Ed was the cherished Papa of Amber Marie (Borowsky) Hyam (Raymond A. III) of Schenectady, NY, and Jaye Ann and Jerilyn Ann Borowsky of Hopewell Township. In addition to his wife, Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Helen (Telinska) Borowsky Sohara and Boleslaw Borowsky; his half siblings, Joseph Sohara and Irene Chmielewski. Ed is survived by numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Franciscan Manor for their care of Ed in his final days. Special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Ed and his family as he made his journey home to God.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where parting prayers will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.
Interment will follow in the parish cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Beaver County Special Unit at 10:45 a.m.
