Emma Marie (Winkle) Galletta, 94, formerly of Hopewell Twp., passed away Sunday morning, October 12, 2014, at Cambridge Village, Patterson Twp., where she was presently residing.Born Sept. 14, 1920, in Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Felicia Wilbur. Marie and her former husband, Lawrence Winkle, resided in Center Twp. where she was a member of VanKirk Lutheran Church and Center Twp. #3 VFD Auxiliary. She and her second husband, Vincent Galletta, whom she married in 1964, made their home in Hopewell Twp. for over 30 years. While living there, she attended Crestmont Missionary Alliance Church. Marie gained employment in the decorating department at Phoenix Glass Company from where she retired in 1982. Following her retirement, she and Vince enjoyed camping at Flying Finn Campground in Unity, Ohio. Known for her hard-working ethic at Phoenix, she carried that on at home by keeping her house immaculate. In her leisure time Marie enjoyed doing arts and crafts, sewing, including needlepoint, and tending her floral garden. Her favorite type of music was country.She is survived by four children, Donald Winkle of Zelienople, David Winkle and his wife, Paula, of Center Twp., Charles Winkle of New Brunfells, Texas and Virginia DiBacco and her husband, Dominic, of Monaca; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a half-brother, Larry Wilbur of Richardson, Ky. and three sisters-in-law, Pat Wilbur of Ashland, Ky., Norma Pesich of Hopewell and Leona Galletta of Aliquippa.In addition to her husband, Vincent, and her parents, Marie was preceded in death by a six-month-old infant son, Thomas Martin Winkle, in 1944; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Winkle and a half-brother, Clarence Wilbur.Friends will be received Wednesday, October 15th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. Pastor Gail Davis will officiate.Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staffs of Cambridge Village and Heartland Hospice for their care and comfort during their mother’s stay.To share online condolences, get directions and other information, please visit simpsonfuneralhome.com.
