Gary E. Thomas, Sr., 70, of Chippewa Township, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014, in Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Beaver Township.Born October 12, 1944, in Rochester, he was a son of Catherine Lay Thomas, of Monaca, and the late Joseph W. Thomas. Gary was employed in management for Bell Telephone (now AT&T) before retiring. Gary was passionate about golf, learning the game when he was 16 years old and was a member of Blackhawk Golf Course.He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Diana L. Jones Thomas (daughter of the late Leonard and Alma Jones) of Chippewa Township; two daughters, Lori Feltrop and her husband, Ken, and Tracy Huber and her husband, Jeff, all of Chippewa Township; two sons, Charles Joseph Thomas and his wife, Paula Lennox of Monaca and Gary E. Thomas (Lisa Moore) of Darlington; five grandchildren, Zachary Feltrop, Chelsea Feltrop-Heranic, Trisha Perine, Dylan Huber, and Joseph G. ‘Joey’ Thomas; a sister, Catherine L. Thomas of Monaca; five sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, John and Joan Jones of El Toro, Calif., Delores Allen of Huntington, W. Va., Lenora and Richard Krebs of New Port Ritchey, Fla., Debby and Vince Cipolla of Aliquippa, and Rosemary Thomas of Patterson Township, along with several nieces and nephews.In addition to his father, Gary was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph C. Thomas and a nephew, Gregory J. Thomas.A private viewing and service was held Monday at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Rev.
