Paul Alan Arner, 82, of Center Township, passed away Sunday evening, June 5, 2016, at his residence.Born January 16, 1934, in Ford City, he was a son of the late Henry E. and Gertrude S. (Brown) Arner. Raised in Ford City, Paul worked in his family’s business, Arner’s Hardware Store and lumber yard. He later moved to the Beaver Valley and was employed as a steelworker in the blooming mill of J&L Steel, Aliquippa Works from where he retired. Paul was united in marriage to Beverly Louise Easley for 63 years and they made their home in Center Township for 61 years. Family and friends were of utmost importance to Paul and they would all routinely meet every Friday night for dinner and to play cards. As a member of North Branch United Presbyterian Church, Center Township, he served as an elder and deacon. Paul was also a past exalted ruler of BPOE Aliquippa #1221. In his leisure time he enjoyed the outdoors, particularly camping in national parks.In addition to his wife Paul will be sadly missed by his five children, Jeffrey P. Arner and his wife, Barbara Jean, Ronald A. Arner and his wife, Susan, Nancy B. Young and her husband, Wayne, Edward C. Arner and his wife, Debra, and Mark D. Arner; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley A. Beasley and a sister-in-law, Linda Kerr.Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard D. Arner, and a sister, Helen M. (J. Gilbert ‘Gil’) Spence.Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. His pastor, Rev.
