Robert L. Brush, 88, of Monaca passed away on Friday evening, June 9, 2017. He was born on July 27, 1928 to the late Fremont H. and Alberta E. (Jones) Brush. Following graduation from Monaca Hight School in 1946, he entered the Navy and served on both the USS Wilkes Barre and the USS Little Rock. Robert was employed for 32 years with J & L Steel as a boilermaker. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed working with stained glass. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Monaca, Monaca-Center Lodge #791 F:AM, New Castle Consistory, a life member of the PNA, Turners and the American Legion Post 580, all of Monaca.
He is survived by his wife of 62 yrs., Julia Marilyn (Hutchinson) Brush. His children; Timothy D. (Lynn DeWald) Brush, Jeffrey R. Brush (Mario Calvo) and Debra (Dennis Timothy) Cronin. His grandchildren; Monica (Aaron) Eli, Cherish & Dylan R. Cronin, Leah M. Brush. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Betty (Paul) Pielek, brothers; Raymond and Fremont Brush.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 13 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where funeral services will be on Wednesday at 11:00 am with his pastor, The Reverend Beth Wierman, officiating. Burial to follow in the garden of Resurrection at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park with full military honors by the Beaver County Special Unit at 11:45 pm.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made if desired to the First Presbyterian Church, 1301 Indiana Avenue, Monaca, PA 15061.
