Thomas E. ‘Tom’ Johnston, 63, of Ambridge, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. His passing occurred at Kindred Hospital at Heritage Valley Beaver following a lengthy illness.Born August 27, 1950, in Rochester, Tom was a son of the late C. Russell and Frances R. (Fisher) Johnston. Raised in Beaver Fall he was employed as a tool die maker at the former Standard Horse Nail Corp. in New Brighton and later at Applied Concepts Inc. in Cranberry Township. An antique collector and enthusiast, Tom owned and operated a booth at the Antique Emporium and later at the Antique Mall in Chippewa where he bought and sold coins, antique model cars and antique collectibles. Tom also enjoyed all types of music.He leaves a daughter, Jami Hall and her husband, John, of New Brighton; a son, Adam Ambrose of Beaver Falls; seven grandchildren, Victoria Zell, Cheyenne Ambrose, Maya Uguidas, Kyla Ambrose, Noah Johnston, Addie Ambrose and Jaylyn Hall; two brothers, Terry Johnston of Fayetteville, NC and Richard (Diane) Johnston of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Kathleen (Robert ‘Moose’) Lambert of Vanport; Tom’s wife, Bernadette Johnston of Ambridge; his former wife, Vicki Johnston of Beaver Falls and a beloved friend, Leslie Dobbins.Friends will be received Saturday, August 9th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. Rev. Ron Kronk, parish associate of Vanport Presbyterian Church, will officiate.
