Ada Mae Anderson, 98 of Center Township, a kind, patient and warm hearted lady was reunited with her late husband, Edward and son, Danny on Wednesday morning, September 15, 2021. Her passing occurred at her home.
Born January 25, 1923 in Hopewell Township, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Mina A (Smith) Close.
A dedicated homemaker, Ada Mae was also actively involved in many organizations within the community. She was a lifelong member of the North Branch Presbyterian Church, Center Township where she had previously served as a deacon and elder, sang in the church choir and a member of the women’s circle. Ada Mae’s late husband, Edward was bestowed the Masonic honorary Scottish Rite 33rd Degree. She herself was a member of Masonic appendant bodies of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. She also a member of the Center Township VFW Auxiliary and a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels.
Ada Mae was united in marriage to Edward M. Anderson, Jr and shared 76 years of marriage prior to his passing on April 5, 2020. Together they enjoyed playing golfing, traveling and archery for which Ada Mae was awarded numerous pins and trophies.
The couple raised three children, a daughter, Sandy and her husband, William Casto (who passed away the previous day, September 14, 2021) of Chippewa, and two sons, Edward (Chris) Anderson of Georgetown and the late Danny Anderson. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren .
In addition to her parents, husband and son, Ada Mae was preceded in death by two sisters: Mildred Dudash and Elizabeth Spratley.
Friends will be received on Monday for a join visitation on Monday from 2-4 pm and 6 until the time of service at 7 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca . Interment will take place on Tuesday at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, North Branch Presbyterian Church or Good Samaritan Hospice.
