I saw Mr. Moffitt holding his "smile" sign many times as I drove through Freedom. I had the privilege of writing a story about him for The Times. He was a true inspiration to me. He will be missed.

Alan, may you be at peace now, may all your trials and tribulations be consumed by the father. Thank you for your giving, caring upbeat character. Thank you for putting a smile on our towns heart. You will be greatly missed. May your loved ones be comforted in knowing you were cared about by many people, and may they know you are at peace and wrapped in the Lords grace.
