Alice S. Hayes, 97, a life long resident of Monaca, died on Wednesday evening, August 8, 2018 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.Born December 21, 1920 in Monaca, Alice was the last surviving child born to the late William F. and Lena E. McHugh Sinclair.  Mrs. Hayes had worked as a deputy recorder of deeds in the Beaver County Courthouse for 30 years, retiring in 1971.  She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca, a Christian Mother and most recently a member of St. Gregory’s Roman Catholic Church, Zelienople. She also was a member of Monaca Turners, had volunteered with the Meals on Wheels Program, and also for the Medical Center Auxiliary, Beaver.In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband William E. Hayes on August 23, 1992, a brother, William F. Sinclair, Jr., a niece Corinne Hyre, and a nephew, Bryan Hayes.Surviving are a niece, Karen (Joe) Guzyk of Owego, NY, a nephew, Roger Hayes of Moscow, Idaho, a great niece, two great nephews, seven great, great nieces, her godchild, Susan (Jeff) Bradford of Monaca, and many dear cousins and friends.Friends will be received on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where prayers will be offered on Tuesday at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Gregory’s Roman Catholic Church, 2 West Beaver Street, Zelienople, PA.  Entombment will be in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum, Rochester.Memorials if desired can be made in Alice’s memory to a charity of your choice.To share online condolences, get directions and other information, please visit simpsonfuneralhome.com.
