Alma M. DeChellis, 89, died peacefully Thursday, October 16, 2014, at the Friendship Ridge Nursing Home. She was born on June 2, 1925, and prior to her admittance to Friendship Ridge in August, she was a lifelong resident of Monaca and resided in the same home on Pacific Avenue for her entire life.She was retired from Westinghouse Electric in Vanport. She was a lifelong faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca.She was a daughter of the late Lucy (Sebastian) and Domenic DeChellis. She was also preceded in death by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Stella and Carl Manzo, Josephine and John Tuccinard and Viola and Orazio Petrella. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Christy DeChellis, James DeChellis and Richard DeChellis, one sister, Virginia Silvestri, a brother-in-law, Samuel Mandarino and her nephew Carl L. Manzo.She is survived by her twin sister, Elsie Mandarino; brother-in-law, Joseph Silvestri and sister-in-law, Juanita DeChellis. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Also through the years she was honored to be godmother to several children.There will be no public visitation.
