ANNA ILENE TURBISH

Anna Ilene Turbish, 98, formerly of Monaca, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019, in Westminster, Maryland.

She was born in Monaca in 1921, daughter of Stephen Kovacic and Barbara (Dragonjac) Kovacic, the youngest of nine children.  She was a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca.  She worked for the Pittsburgh Screw and Bolt Company during World War II and later in the Office of the Beaver County Treasurer until she retired in 1983.  She and her husband moved from Monaca to Westminster, Maryland, in 2015.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Stephen J. Turbish on August 15, 2917; her sisters, Rose, Katherine Stipe, and Margaret Kucan, and her brothers, Joseph, Frank, and George.  She was also predeceased by twin sisters, Mary and Anna, who died as infants before she was born.

She is survived by her two children James Turbish and Jane Mattes, four grandchildren, Heather (Mattes) Mattern, Jennifer (Mattes) Walker, Stephen J. Turbish, III, and Rebecca (Turbish) Schniepp, and eight great-grandchildren, Katherine Mattern, Brennan Mattern, Stella Walker, Emmett Walker, Annabelle Walker, Abbey Walker, Sawyer Schniepp, and Elliott Schniepp.

Family and friends will be received Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Simpson Funeral  & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where prayers will be offered on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.   Interment will follow in the St John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Monaca.
