Arla J. Gracey of Hopewell Township was peacefully reunited with her loved ones on October 26, 2023, at Concordia of Monroeville. Born in South Heights, PA, Arla was dearly loved by her family and many friends and touched all with her kindness and joy of life.
Arla was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin A. and Finis (Neal) Benedict, her husband of 67 years, Samuel D. Gracey, her daughter, Judith Gracey George, and her sister, Mary Parker.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Gracey (John Pedrotti) of Wilkins Township, grandchildren, William (Jolene) George, Jr. of Dillsburg and Samantha (Michael) Stefan of State College and great-grandchildren, Samuel, Sylvie, Lucy and Michael.
Arla dedicated her life to the service of her family as a homemaker. Her wisdom and guidance will be dearly missed.
Arla and Sam enjoyed escaping the Pittsburgh winters in Florida, their dancing and spending time with family and friends. She was a longtime member of the Sharon Community Presbyterian Church in Moon Township. She was a devoted lover of her dogs, most recently her faithful companion Misty.
A memorial service honoring Arla’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 11 am at Sharon Community Presbyterian Church, 522 Carnot Road, Moon Township, PA 15108 with her pastor Reverend Becky Branch-Trevathan, officiating.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be given in Arla’s memory, if desired to the Sharon Community Presbyterian Church.
