Audrey V. Boyd, 90, of Brighton Township (Beaver Co.), entered into the Pearly Gates on Wednesday, December 14, 2011.
Born February 19, 1921, in Luxenburg Heights, and raised in the North Apollo area, she was a daughter of the late James and Susan Turney. Mrs. Boyd married William Donald Boyd on September 24, 1947, who preceded her in death on August 13, 1982. She was a longtime, devout member of Monacrest Free Methodist Church in Monaca where she was a former greeter, Sunday school teacher and superintendent, member of the Sr. Sunday School Class and Bible Study. She found joy in singing in the church choir and later became its director. Mrs. Boyd was formerly employed as a supervisor at Bell Telephone Co. Her love of caring for others led her to working as a nurse?s aide at the former Beaver Valley Geriatric Center and later as a caregiver with Homemakers Home Health of Beaver County.
Mrs. Boyd lived the last several years in New Castle and attended the New Springfield Church of God in New Springfield, OH.
In addition to her parents and brother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Turney and his wife, Betty.
She leaves a daughter, Sandra ?Sandie? Kincade and her husband, Robert, of New Castle; a son, William Boyd and his wife, Nancy of Burgettstown and a grandson, R. Blair Kincade of New Castle.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Visitation will also be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. in Monacrest Free Methodist Church, 995 Elmira St., Monaca. Her pastor, Rev. Doug Rabe, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
