Barbara (McElwee) Tuma passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, September 21st, 2016 at the Evergreen Retirement Center in Harmony. Born January 11, 1944 in Sewickley she was the daughter of Bernard & Reta McElwee. Barb lived in New Sewickley Township for over 42 years. She was a beautician by trade, but devoted her life to be a caregiver to her oldest son Craig, who was born with Muscular Dystrophy, until his death in 2007. Barb was much loved and devoted her spare time to helping others and being a steward for St. John’s \”Burry’s\” Church, New Sewickley Twp. She devoted much of her time to the youth group and other special events. She was a fantastic cook and baker, preparing meals throughout the year for her family and friends.Barb leaves behind her husband George Tuma, whom she was married to for over 52 years, two sons John (Carol) Tuma of New Sewickley, and David (Jalee) Tuma of New Brighton, two grandchildren Paige Slima Hutton of New Brighton, Brett Tuma of New Brighton, and one great grandchild Katrina Slima of New Brighton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Craig. Friends will be received on Friday, September 23rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services 1119 Washington Ave, Monaca. where services will be held Saturday, September 24th at 11 a.m. with her pastor, Reverend Win Groseclose officiating. Interment will immediately follow in St John’s Burry’s Church Cemetery.Memorial contributions in honor of Barbara J.
