Jean Moldovan, 87 of Monaca, was reunited with her husband, George on Thursday, September 12, 2019.
Born on July 3, 1932 in Langeloth, (Washington County), Pennsylvania, Jean was one of six children born to the late William & Gladys Griffith. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting and in her younger years volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Jean was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Monaca and the ladies’ circle at church.
Jean was united in marriage to George C. Moldovan on November 26, 1952 who passed on November 14, 2007.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, P.J. Moldovan, two sisters: Lucille and Betty, and a brother, Bill.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons, George (Brenda) Moldovan of Potter Township, and Thomas (Maria Elena) Moldovan of San Antonio, TX, four grandchildren; Jennifer Moldovan, and Thomas W., Moldovan, Jr., Kelly Cooper, and Lezeth, eleven great grandchildren; Alexis, Hunter, Brittany, Shawn, Christopher, Dillon, Mallory, Avery, Madison, Sebastian, and Lillian, a brother James (Loretta) Griffith, and a sister, Shirley (late Bill) Kurensky.
Friends will be received on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca with her pastor, the Reverend Beth Wierman officiating. Private entombment will take place at Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.
