Barbara Mary (Mitchell) Thompson, age 78, of Center Township passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She was at home and surrounded by her family.
Born in Rochester, PA, she was the daughter of Raymond Henry Mitchell and Dorothy Sarah (Cisco) Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents and both brothers, Raymond Charles and Thomas Henry Mitchell. As a result of losing her parents so young, Barb was unofficially adopted by the late Pete and Ann Flint. The Flint Crew remains family to this day.
Barb is survived by all of her children and grandchildren. She was the mother of Scott Thompson of Center Township, Vicky Thompson of Ellenton, FL, Kirk (Roberta Moses) Thompson of Bridgewater, and Raeanne (Bill) Barlow of Patterson Township. Grandma to Joe, Leeann, John, Dylan, AJ, Tracey, Austin, Serena and Eli. Great Grandma to Darian, Jeremy, Jaxson, Damien, Raygan and Adrianna. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special friend, Evie Smith of Unionville.
Barb retired from Kings Family Restaurant where she was a waitress for many years.
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. An addition visitation will take place on Monday, November 22nd from 9:00 am until the time of service at 10:00 am at Monacrest Free Methodist Church, 995 Elmira Avenue, Monaca, PA with the Reverend Emilee Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
