Bertha Jarrett, 89, formerly of Ohioville, fell asleep, Saturday, February 23, 2013. She lived in Ohioville until 2001, when she moved to Monaca.
A daughter of the late Grief and English (Smith) Lampkin, Bertha attended grade school (grades 1 to 8) at the one room schoolhouse on Bielers Run Road before graduating from Midland High School.
In addition to her parents she was preceded death by her husband, William Thomas Jarrett, Sr.; two sons: James Edward Jarrett, Sr., and William Thomas Jarrett, Jr.; a grandson, Aven Jarrett; five sisters, Isabell, Callie, Lucy, Ellen and Addie and three brothers, Harvey, Grief Jr. and David.
She leaves four children, Tyrone L. Jarrett, Sr. of Midland and dear friend, Narcissa Marrow; Dennis K. Jarrett and his wife, Diana, in Virginia, and Gloria J. Jarrett and Carolyn S. Jarrett both of Center Township; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Jarrett, of East Liverpool, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She loved each and every one of them.
Blessed with a green thumb, Bertha loved being able to grow beautiful flowers and tasty vegetables in her gardens. She was dedicated to her Heavenly Father Jehovah God; her faith guiding her through many difficult times. Her favorite Scripture was James 4:8, ?Draw close to God and he will draw close to you.? Yes she is asleep now, but her name will be called, for her to come out of her memorial tomb, to have her judgment.
Friends will be received Friday, March 1st, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Mr. Marion Wallace, elder at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witnesses, Industry will conduct the service.
