Betty J. Koehler, 95 of Monaca, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2019 surrounded by the love of her family.A lifelong resident of Monaca, Betty was born on January 24, 1924, a daughter of the late D. Frank and L. Marie (Gormley) Figley.On February 19, 1946, she and Jimmie G. Koehler were united in marriage and celebrated 65 years together until his passing on April 28, 2011. Actively involved in the community and church, Betty was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monaca and the church’s Senior Circle previously serving as their secretary. In 1960, she was initiated into the Naomi Chapter #55, Order of Eastern Star (now Woodlawn Chapter # 164, O.E.S.). She was also a member of the American Legion Post #580 Auxiliary and the former Beaver County Fireman’s Auxiliary. For over 25 years, she was employed at the Penn State Beaver Campus as an executive secretary.In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her only sibling, Naomi Davis.She will be sadly missed by her two sons; Jay Barry Koehler and his wife, Debra of Waldorf, Maryland and Gary Lee Koehler and Yvonne of Houston, Texas. Her grandchildren; Lee and Liane Moneta-Koehler, Jessamyn Koehler, Jill and Alex Dominguez, Becca Jane Koehler and Patrick Lien, and Caitlyn and Dan Koennel. Six great grandchildren; Jonathan Koehler, Addison Koennel, Sylvia Moneta-Koehler, Harper Koennel, Rose Moneta-Koehler and Tobias Dominguez. Two great nephews and their wives, D.J. and Lisa Marovich and Grant and Ashley Furr. Additionally she will be missed by very dear friends, Judy Gradisek, Rob Gradisek and Richard Gradisek, DDSFriends will be received on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca followed by a funeral service on Saturday at 10:30 am in the First Presbyterian Church of Monaca, 1301 Indiana Avenue, Monaca (everyone please meet at the church) with her pastor, Reverend Beth Wierman officiating. Entombment will follow in Beaver Mausoleum in Beaver.
