Billie J. Bonam Namath, 85 of Monaca went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 21, 2022.
Born in South Heights, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Maldon Kaylor Blackledge.
Billie was a 1955 graduate of Monaca High School and a longtime and very proud member of school’s reunion committee. She recently attended their most recent gathering. A source of prosperity for youth activities, Billie was also involved in her children’s school and sporting activities as a Band Mother, Football Mother, Little League and a founding member of Monaca Bantam Basketball. She was also a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca and a 52 year member of AlAnon. She retired with 12 years of service in the Domestic Relations Department at the Beaver County Courthouse.
A wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and beloved friend, Billie is survived by five children: Connie (Steve) Sluzynsky of Monaca, Robert P. Namath, Jr of Monaca, Richard (Sara) Namath of Conway. Frank (Carol) Namath of Baden and Daniel Namath of Weirton, W V . Seven grandchildren: Tim Namath, Steven Sluzynsky, Meghan Sluzynsky Dellas, Madison Namath, Abigail Namath, Hunter Namath and Caleb Namath. Six great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews including special nieces Debbie Elmer and Nancy Tanski. Her ‘second daughter’, Lisa Rambo and a longtime best friend, Patricia Miller.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Robert P.Namath ,Sr. The last of six children, she was preceded by her siblings, Jean Adams, Lewis Blackledge, Joan Kaylor, Robert Hall and Earl Blackledge. She was also preceded by her best friends, Corky Mickey and Peggy MacMahan.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 28th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where prayers will be offered on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 am in St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. The family has requested memorial contributions be made, if desired to Make-A-Wish Greater PA & WV , The Gulf Tower, 707 Grant Street, 37th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA. 15219 or the Beaver County Humane Society.
