C. Wayne Miner, 87 of Monaca passed away on Saturday afternoon, September 9, 2017 at Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls, PA.Born on April 6, 1930, in Normalville, PA, he was a son of the late Franklin and Ida (Grimm) Miner. Following graduation from Connellsville High School, Wayne entered the US Army where he served in the 7th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He was a retired steel worker for J & L Steel, Aliquippa. Wayne faithfully attended Freedom United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school. He also enjoyed reading, singing, and had volunteered for many years at the Salvation Army.Wayne is survived by his brother, Marvin Miner, a sister, Betty Lou Rugg, brother in law, William Borghi, sister in law Ruth Miner, and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Harold, Homer, Howard, and Donald, his sisters: Ruth, Hilda, Lenora, Elenora, and Arla.Friends will be received on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca followed by a prayer service with Pastor Donald W. MacNeil officiating and full military honors performed by the Beaver County Special Unit at 4:00 pm.
