Carmen R. Cattivera, 74, of Monaca, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at Heritage Valley Beaver. His passing was unexpected.
Born August 21, 1937, he was a son of the late Louis and Anna (Ferry) Cattivera and husband of the late Judith A. (Kravice) Cattivera, who preceded him in death on July 4, 2011. Carmen was also preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Richards Cedro. A veteran of the US Navy and lifelong resident of Monaca, Carmen previously served as the Code Enforcement and Animal Control Officer for the borough and was a retiree of Beaver County Vo-Tech School. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca and a life member of the Monaca S.O.I. Carmen will be affectionately remembered a as disc jockey, known as ?Oldies with the Catt?. Although he enjoyed all ?oldies? music, Carmen was particularly fond of Elvis Presley.
He leaves a daughter, Cindy Goodlin, and her husband, Buster, of Calcutta, OH; a son, Dave Cattivera and his wife, Janice, of Aliquippa; three grandchildren Andrew (Courtney) McGrogan and their son, Aiden, Mark McGrogan and Danielle Richards; a brother, Rick, in Calif. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where a blessing service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. Father George Chortos, pastor of St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca will officiate. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
