Carol J. Knighton, 80 of New Sewickley Township passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2020 at her home while under the care of VITAS Hospice.
A daughter of the late Frank and Ann (Flocker) Roush, Carol was raised in Baden and was a graduate of Ambridge High School. Carol’s favorite past times included knitting, crocheting and spinning wool. She had a great love of dogs, particularly Dachshunds. An accomplished trainer and owner of several national champion Dachshunds, her Dachshund named Knightwinds Temptation won both American and Canadian championships. She was a member of the Beaver Valley Kennel Club and Pittsburgh Dachshund Club.
She leaves her husband of 62 years, Joseph W Knighton and two sons. Joseph Knighton, Jr. (Debbie) and Bryan Knighton. Two grandchildren, Nicholas and Adam (Tiffany) Knighton. Three great grandchildren, Imani, Soletta and Adam, Jr.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and also on Wednesday from 10 – 10:30 am in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services,1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Graveside services will follow at 11 am in Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom with the Reverend Douglas Myers, pastor of the Unionville United Methodist Church, officiating.
