Catherine F. Cochran

Catherine F. Cochran, 90 of Center Township, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her daughter, Louise’s home on October 10, 2023. Born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Calvin Wayne and Catherine Strickler. Raised in Sheffield, she met and fell in love with her late husband, Russell Wayne Cochran, Sr. They exchanged vows on March 7, 1952. Together, they built a home in Center Township, where they raised their family.

Catherine was the adoring mother of Vanessa Cochran-Rajkovich, Louise Ann Disney, Grant William Cochran, Brad Edward Cochran, and the late Russell Wayne Cochran, Jr. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Calvin, Charlie, Anna Mae, Unis, Edith, and Floyd. Catherine found immense joy in being a grandmother to twelve grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, and sixteen great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Ella Zimmerman, and her beloved pets, Sophie, Gizmo, and Pretty Kitty.

A homemaker, she was an active member of the Center VFW auxiliary, Monaca Turners, and a social member of the Monaca Sportsman’s Club. Catherine had a zest for life. She and her late husband shared a love for roller skating, a hobby that brought them much joy and countless fond memories.
