Cathie Patete

Cathie L Patete, 71 of Beaver Falls was called Home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, surrounded by her family at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley, Beaver. Born in Sewickley, Cathie was a daughter of Victor Stephens and the late Blanche Maley Stephens. She was born into a family that included her three siblings: William (Tara) DiSanzo, Victor Stephens, and Diane Labon.

Raised in Beaver County, Cathie attended Hopewell Area High School, where she participated in gymnastics and archery. Her zest for life and her commitment to caring for others led her to study nursing at the Community College of Beaver County.

Cathie’s family was the cornerstone of her life. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles Cover and the loving mother to their three children: Cathie Cindrich of Chippewa, Christine (Gregory) Smith of Hopewell, and the late Charles Robert Cover III. Her heart was further expanded with love for her two grandchildren, Amanda Reda and Colton Cindrich, and her two great-grandchildren, Collin Reda and Luca Cindrich. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Cathie’s love for baseball was a well-known aspect of her personality. She was a dedicated fan and loved nothing more than watching her great-grandchild Collin play baseball as well. But more than anything, she relished the time spent with her family, cherishing every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cathie also loved to dance and when her children were growing up she always had them singing and dancing.

A family gathering to commemorate her life will be held at a later date.

The family has suggested memorial contributions be may made, in her memory if desired to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
