Charles M. ?Chuck? Tranko, formerly of Monaca, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012, in the emergency room of UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp.
Born December 15, 1949, he was a son of the late Henry M and Dorothy (Adkins) Tranko. Chuck was previously employed at the Shop-n-Save in Center Twp. He was a member of Monaca-Center Lions Club and previously served as president. As was his caring nature, Chuck volunteered at the Lighthouse for the Blind in New Brighton and the Medical Center Beaver. He was a member of the former St. Peter?s German Lutheran Church, Monaca.
He leaves a brother, John M. Tranko and a nephew, Joel Tranko, both of Wheeling, WV; a cousin, Dr. Philip Woods and his wife, Byra, of Latrobe and several other cousins.
Friends will be received Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Rev. Robert W. Strobel, Pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Monaca, will officiate.
He will be laid to rest alongside of his parents in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
The Monaca-Center Lions Club will conduct a service Saturday at 2:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
