Charles ‘Chuck’ William Winlow, 90, of Center Township, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Beaver Valley Nursing & Rehab, South Beaver Township.Born July 27, 1926, in Monaca, he was a son of the late Joseph and Elma (Brown) Winlow, and a brother of the late Joseph. A proud veteran of the US Navy during World War II, Chuck served on the USS Blackford in the Pacific Ocean and received the American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, Pacific Theater Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Following his tour of duty, he found employment as a machinist at Westinghouse Electric, retiring after 40 years of service. He was also self-employed as a TV repairman during the 1950’s and 60’s. In his younger years Chuck could be found fishing, boating and traveling with his wife, Mary Louise, in their camper. Later he enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Chuck was a member of North Branch United Presbyterian Church in Center Township.He will be sadly missed by his son, Charles II ‘Charlie’ Winlow and his wife, Patty; of Cody, WY: two grandchildren, Jacob Winlow and his partner, Kerry Breen, also of Cody, and Kyla Winlow and her spouse, Marissa, of Austin TX.In addition to his parents and brother, Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife, the former Mary Louise Wagner.Friends will be received Wednesday, December 28th, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. His pastor, Rev. Deborah Huffmyer, will officiate.
