Christopher J. Newman, 52, formerly of Monaca, went to be with the Lord and his parents and siblings on Friday, June 14, 2013.
Chris was born Feb. 20, 1961, a son of the late Norwood and Irene (Wolfe) Newman. He was a 1979 graduate of Monaca High School and in 1981 of CCBC. He later completed a course at DCI for computers. Chris was employed with K Mart in Cranberry Twp. for 15 years as a garden manager and in their security department and later worked at various accounting positions. The best time of his life was as past president and coach of the Monaca Girls Softball League on which his daughter played. Chris also assisted with the Rampage Fast Pitch Travel League. He was a former member of the Monaca PNA and a former social member of the Monaca American Legion and their golf league.
He and his wife, Kimberly, celebrated 30 years of marriage in February. He also leaves a daughter, Laura and a future son-in-law, Nick Vorrias, whom he referred to as his ‘son’; a niece, Kelly (Chris) Jones and a nephew, Brian (Carrie) Newman and their children, Tyler and Emmy.
In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Newman Masters and a brother, William Newman.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6 p. m. until the time of his memorial service at 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724) 728-4000
