Concetta “Connie” Catanzarite

Concetta Catanzarite, 98, a longtime Rochester resident passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2023. Known as Connie, she was a woman of intelligence and grace. A beloved daughter of the late Pasquale Catanzarite and Maria LaGrotteria Catanzarite, Connie’s passing marks the end of an era. Connie was the last of her immediate family, leaving behind fond memories of her siblings: Michelena, Victoria Ruby, Ralph, Louis, Alfred, Anthony, and Elizabeth Signore.

Born to a lineage proud of their Italian heritage, Connie was a woman who carried her roots with grace and dignity. She held high the torch of knowledge, being a graduate of Geneva College with a major in English. A beacon of learning, she loved to tutor others in the English language, thus sharing the gift of communication and understanding.

Her professional journey found her serving as an administrative assistant for the railroad, a position she held with great dedication.

Her love for her family was profound and her love for travel took her to many places.

A woman of varied interests, she held a special place in her heart for animals.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 25th from 3 to 5 pm at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Private interment will take place at St Cecelia Cemetery, Rochester.
