Dale F. Foeks, 82, of Center Township, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born January 8, 1930, in Brackenridge, he was a son of the late Carl and Rachel (Smith) Foeks. Dale was a plant superintendent for 34 years at Phoenix Glass Co. Monaca and later a plant manager at St. George Crystal in Jeannette. A leader of Cub Scout Troop #454 Dale was also an advisor and committeeman for Boy Scout Explorer Troop #423. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, a lifelong member of Monaca Turners where he participated in the bowling league and a life member of North American Hunting Association. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was Lutheran by faith.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Mabel Heckman Foeks; a daughter, Glenda Heibert of Hopewell Township; two sons, Dale F. Foeks II and his wife, Amy, of New Sewickley Township and Ronald C. Foeks and his fiancée, Sally of Beaver; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Michele) Foeks, Benjamin Foeks, Douglas (Brittany) Foeks, Tom (Ruth) Osborn, Melinda Heibert and Roger (Melissa) Hayden; six step-grandchildren; a great-grandson, Joshua Osborn; 19 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Greta (Robert) Pickerell and Vondell Siple and two brothers, Forrest (Rita) Foeks and Leland (Alda) Foeks.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles Heibert, and a brother, Brent Foeks.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schleifer Funeral Services, Inc., 998 Atlantic Avenue, Monaca, where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. Reverend Allan Drake, pastor of Riverdale Presbyterian Church, Moon Township, will officiate. He will be laid to rest in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to American Lung Association, 810 River Avenue, Suite #140, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
