Daniel Roy Bennett, Sr., 75, of Rochester, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Friendship Ridge, with his loving wife, Anne, at his side.
Born May 22, 1938, in Rochester, he was a son of the late Wayne and Edna P. (Hawk) Bennett. Roy was a supervisor with 47 years of service at Phoenix Glass Company where he was well respected by his co-workers. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing. Roy was known for being a good husband and companion and cherished his family.
He leaves his wife of 38 years, Anne E. (Musser) Bennett; two sons, Dan R. Bennett, Jr. of New Brighton and John (Beth) Bennett of Pulaski Twp.; a daughter, Lil (Wayne) Fath of New Brighton; a step-daughter, Valerie (Bill) Jones of Rochester Twp.; son-in-law, Peter Nicholas Gulgin; two grandsons, John Bennett Jr. and Nicholas Gulgin; a great-grandson and brothers and sisters, Geraldine (late Martin) Kerr of Freedom, Charles (Lena) Bennett of Rochester, late George (Sara, living) Bennett of Monaca, Margaret (Delbert) Finch of Conway, late Edna (Howard, living) Gillin Potter Twp., David Bennett of Freedom, Leonard (Yvonne) Bennett of Freedom and Robert Bennett of Monaca. He also leaves good friends, Lou Brice, Ed and Bonnie Wintermyer and Helen and Don Barnes, and his beloved dog, Mandi.
In addition to his parents Roy was preceded in death by a special daughter, Vicki Gulgin who passed away two months ago in Warren, Ohio.
A private family viewing was held at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca.
