David A. Parks, 78 , a lifelong resident of Patterson Township passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Known for his love for all things automotive, Dave was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, a son of the late John C. and Anna Parks, and a brother to Richard Parks and Martha (DeWayne) Kanagy, who had taken the same heavenly highway earlier. Surviving are his siblings, Lois (late James) Slocum and Miriam (late Thomas) Bickerton, along with several nieces and nephews.
David was the proud husband of Ida Mae (Todd) Parks for an impressive 56-year-long of marriage. Together, they raised two sons, David (Michelle) Parks of Wellington, Ohio, and Lee (Lori) Parks of Hopewell Township. Troy and Danica Parks were his cherished grandchildren.
David’s professional life was as dynamic as a well-maintained engine. He was a part of the Babcock and Wilcox team in Beaver Falls before he found his true calling in life – truck driving. For 40 years, he lived his dream of driving truck.
David was one of the original ‘Taylor Bums’. He was a regular at car cruises and a respected member and past president of the ‘Happy Days Car Club’ and a proud member of the Cruzin Few Car Club. The annual ‘Good Guys Car Show’ in Columbus, Ohio was his mecca, which he faithfully visited for 25 years. He also had a penchant for the National Street Rod Association in York, PA, attending it for a good number of years.
When he wasn’t cruising on land, David enjoyed taking cruises on the sea. His love for cruises was only second to his love for cars. He was of the United Methodist Faith
In his memory, let’s rev our engines a little louder, laugh a little heartier, and live a little fuller.
