Deloris (Dee) Gray Snyder Pfaff, 95 of Beaver, PA passed away on July 10, 2021 in Statesville, NC, with her daughters by her side. She was born August 9, 1925 in New Martinsville, WV. and was the daughter of the late Edward L. Gray and Edna Miller Gray. Dee had been a resident of Baden, PA for over 40 years and previously lived in Beaver, PA for over 30 Years. She was a retired accountant that worked for various automobile dealerships. Dee was a member of the First Christian Church, Beaver, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Pfaff, her first husband Arch Snyder Jr. and her sister Eva June Knouse. She loved to sew and made all the bridesmaids dresses for her two granddaughter’s weddings (Heather Mertz-Yalcinkaya and Melinda Mertz-Simons). She was the family baker as she always baked Christmas cookies for everyone. She made quilts and canned vegetable from her garden. While living on a farm in Beaver, PA, she cooked for the farm hands, took care of the various animals and sold fresh eggs from the flock of 250 chickens. Dee enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friends and family and had a love for travel. She visited Turkey with her granddaughter, Heather, and her family and also went on several cruises. She enjoyed her first camping trip with her daughter, Bonnie, at the sand dunes in Glamis, CA where she rode an ATV. In her early years, she loved to dance and was known for being the best at the Jitterbug.
She will be profoundly missed by daughters Denette Orr (Robert), Beaver, PA and Bonnie Fields (Ron), Sherrills Ford, NC and Scottsdale, AZ. Also surviving are her granddaughters, Heather Mertz Yalcinkaya (Tamer) of Winston-Salem, NC, Melinda Mertz Simons (Craig) of Beaver, PA, Katie Orr of Charlotte, NC, and Carrie Davis of Pinetop, AZ. Dee had eleven great grandchildren that will miss her: Selin, Berk, Derin & Melodi Yalcinkaya (all of Winston-Salem, NC), Austin, Emmy & Eric Simons (all of Beaver, PA), Jessica Davis Bromwell (David) of Las Cruces, NM, Rusty Davis of Phoenix, AZ, Kayla Davis Livingston and Bailey Davis (Kaitlyn) of Pinetop, AZ. She also leaves behind nine great great grandchildren and two nephews, Rick (Marianne) Knouse & Ron (Cathy) Knouse. She will be missed by her faithful Schnauzer, Bridgette, who was always by her side and her cherished neighbor and friend, Arlene Seig.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 1:00 pm at Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, PA 15061
Reverend Collene Carney will Officiate.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made, if desired, to The First Christian Church, 370 Iroquois Place, Beaver, PA 15009 or The Monacrest Free Methodist Church, 995 Elmira St, Monaca, PA 15061. Also, the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Rd, Aliquippa, PA 15001.
