To my sister Diane, (from your brother Kevin) Growing up memories were about watching Saturday morning cartoons and Sky King, each of us with a dill pickle. There is a classic photo in the family album of Diane sitting on a log holding a pickle. Some weekends during the summer at Lake Pochung with Aunt Kat and cousins Alan and Jay along with other aunts, uncles and cousins. Having watermelon after dinner on the tables right by the lake. When we would visit Uncle Cubby and Aunt Ann, after dinner when it got dark cousins Joanne and Andrea would gang up on Diane and I, scaring us saying there were "mongsters" in the chicken coup out back. After we moved to Puerto Rico, Diane, Leane and Kevin joined the community swim team, and would swim against other community teams on the weekends. Some other weekends we would go out on the boat that Dad had rebuilt, visiting smaller neighbor islands and swimming in the blue ocean. And so grade schools passed by, high school passed by, we grew up and grew out, starting families of our own; Diane being the oldest and the first to do so. And then it became Scott and Kurt's turn, they began growing up memories of their own, and so the cycle of life continues....

Hi Scott, I probably have a lot less memories of your mom in our childhood years than Kevin does. I was 10 years younger than Di. I have vague memories of our life in Puerto Rico together. I was only 5 or 6 then and mostly those memories were from seeing photos years later. I do remember that Diane was always kind to me, and caring; loving. She protected me. After that time period, our parents divorced and the family was split up. Di went to live with our mom, and Kevin and I went to live with our father and his mother, Eva Rome. I remember visiting our mother and sister on the weekends. Di loved the Beatles (she was crazy over them) and was in love with Paul. I loved Ringo. She was always listening to their records, and sometimes we would dance to their music together. She had all of the Beatles dolls, and she would sometimes let me play with them. She was always encouraging, loving, kind and patient with me. She never raised her voice or yelled at me like older sisters will sometimes do. Later in life we became friends as well as sisters. I will miss her very much and I am glad that she is now healthy, happy, and free from pain, and with her mother in Heaven. Love you, Leane
