Doris Louise Fillinger

Doris Louise Fillinger, 96 formerly of Monaca passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022.
Born July 14, 1926 in Gallipolis, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Claude Norman and Garnet (Willey) Smith. On December 24, 1946, she married Homer J Fillinger who preceded in death in 2009. Doris worked for a number of years as a sales clerk at the former Kaufmanns in Rochester. She loved to go shopping and eating out and her weekly hair appointments.
She leaves behind a daughter and son in law, Sherry and Okey Matthews, a grandson, Brian Blankenbicker and a step grandson, Ryan Matthews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by two brothers, Claude Norman Smith, Jr., a U S Marine killed while serving in the military and Thomas Elwood Smith.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 6th from 1-4 PM at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM with Reverend Doug Rabe, officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
