Dorothy E. Lintz, 89, of Monaca, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 29, 2013, in the emergency department of Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born August 31, 1924, in Rochester, she was the last surviving child of the late Nicholas and Julia (French) Savot and the wife of Norman E. Lintz, who survives. Church life was an integral part of Dot?s life as a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, serving as a former Sunday school teacher and communion server and a member of the women of ELCA, Phoebe Circle. At Trinity Oaks Care Center, Brighton Twp., Mrs. Lintz led devotions for eight years and when her children were in school, volunteered at school activities and sporting events. Years ago, Mrs. Lintz attended cake decorating classes and used her skills for special events.
In addition to her husband, Norman, she will be sadly missed by her three children, Terry Lintz and his wife, Janice, of Papillion NE, Susan Lintz of Monaca and David Lintz and his wife, Joan, of Binghamton, NY; a granddaughter, Brandy; a grandson, Michael, who is currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan, and his wife, Jenna, and a great-granddaughter, Alena.
Along with her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Robert; a sister, Mildred and an infant brother at birth.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 819 Washington Avenue, Monaca.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
