Dorothy G. Nichol, 86, of Monaca was reunited with her late husband, James ‘Hix’ Nichol on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Dorothy was born on December 27, 1930 in Freedom, a daughter of the late Henry and Helen(Metzgar) Adair. On February 14, 1953, Dorothy and James M. ‘Hix’ Nichol were united in marriage. Hix passed away on March 14, 2011. A lifelong resident of Monaca, who loved to cook and bake for her family who meant the world to her.She leaves 2 children; a son, James M., Jr. and his wife Vanessa Nichol of Virginia; a daughter Terri and her husband Guy Lang of Economy Boro; her beloved grandchildren, Ryan Nichol, Lindsey Nichol and her fiancé, Landon Funicello, Ashlee(Ryan) Sydlik and their daughter Ainsley, and Brianna(Mike)Meder. A sister, Ruth Shull of Beaver; two sister-in-laws, Julia Nichol and Juanita,’Sis’, Nichol both of Monaca, and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by two sisters, Millie McCann and Virginia Reed.Friends will be received on Sunday, July 2 from 1:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am with the Rev.
