DOROTHY M. HESLIP SAMCHUCK BAJEKDorothy passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2017 surrounded by her immediate family. She was a lifelong resident of Freedom, PA and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Freedom. Dorothy was a retired employee of Liberty Bell Savings & Loan. Dorothy or Dot (as she was known to many), will be dearly missed and her memory will live on in our hearts as she was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and friend who adored her family and those around her. Dorothy was the last surviving member of the Heslip clan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna, four sisters: Sarah, Alberta, Ruby and Evelyn and one brother, William. She was blessed to have married two wonderful men who adored her. We know that both anxiously awaited her arrival in Heaven. Her first love, George Samchuck preceded in her in death in November, 1963. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Stanley Bajek, May 1986. In addition to George and Stanley, she was greeted by her adoring son-in-law, Joe Dettore who preceded her May 2011.Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Dettore and granddaughter, Erika Dettore Stone. She is also survived by her two great-granddaughters, Sydney Dettore Stone and Alexandra Mackenzie Stone and a grandson-in-law, Tom Stone. Dorothy leaves behind a nephew and niece, Tom (Sandy) Anderson and Barbara (Joe) Ulicny and three great nieces. She also leaves a very dear lifelong friend, Betty Miller. The family will be received friends on Tuesday, August 8th from 11 AM until the time of services at 1PM in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Elder Robert Reich of the former First Presbyterian Church of Freedom will officiate. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park,The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Diana Davis of Beaver Valley Health and Rehabilitation. Diana’s unyielding compassion and care for Dorothy was truly a blessing.
