Dorothy M. Fletcher entered into eternal rest on January 4, 2019.Born April 22, 1926 to Katherine and Andrew Alischer in Monaca, Pennsylvania.She was a graduate of Monaca High School Class of 1943, and she served on their Reunion Committee for 71 years.She previously had been a member of the former St. Peters Lutheran Church in Monaca where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Agnes Shade Circle. Currently, a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and a member of the Joy Circle and Prayer Group.Mrs. Fletcher was employed at the First National Bank of Monaca and retired from Sky Bank in 1990. She was a life-long member of the Monaca Saxons.Dorothy and her late husband, Norman L. Fletcher, were married on June 6, 1946 and lived their entire lives in Monaca.They were blessed with two children, Peggy Fletcher Cottrill (husband Michael) of Boston, MA and Norman A. Fletcher (fiancée Amy). She had one grandchild, Katherine Alexandra Cottrill of Boston, MA.She was preceded in death by her husband Norman and her mother Katherine Alischer Simoleit (husband Pastor Hans) and her father Andrew Alischer. Dorothy was also preceded by her aunt Sarah Meiterth Kirchner (husband Harry), her uncle Andrew (wife Naomi), her cousin Tom McPadden (wife Frances), and is survived by her cousin Margaret Evans (husband Herbert).She leaves three special cousins, Elaine Milligan (husband Dan), Kathi Householder (husband David), and Harry Kirchner (wife Aleta). She had two life-long friends Helen Werthman currently of Monaca and Doris Irons (husband William) deceased.She was an honorary aunt to many nieces, nephews and their families, who she dearly loved.She loved to read and was an avid sports fan of all Monaca and Pittsburgh sports teams. She was a member of her card club of life-long friends since 1945.Friends received on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 819 Washington Avenue, Monaca with Reverend Susan Irons and Reverend Angela Smith co-officiating.
