E. Lorraine Barto, 94 of Monaca passed away Sunday evening, March 3, 2019 at Cambridge Village, Patterson Township.Born in Mounds, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Violet Morrison. She was a graduate of New Brighton High School.Lorraine first pursued a career as a hairdresser before gaining employment with Bell Telephone Company in Rochester as an operator. Following her retirement after a number of years with Bell, she worked part time for the former Gimbel’s Department Store at the Beaver Valley Mall.She was a devout member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monaca where she served the church in numerous capacities as a choir member and assisted with a variety of church activities as the Ladle and their annual chicken breast dinners. She was a longtime member of the Naomi Chapter #55, Order of the Eastern Star. Some of her other interests included traveling, wintering in Florida and gardening.A loving and devoted wife, Lorraine leaves her husband of 69 years, Eugene R. Barto to whom she was united in marriage on August 12, 1947. She also leaves a brother in law, Stewart Barto and numerous nieces and nephews.The last of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: H.J. Morrison, Fred Morrison, Violet Fash, Mary Williams, Vera Herron and Margaret Pullion.A private family visitation and services were held Friday in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca with her pastor, Reverend Beth Wierman, officiating. Entombment followed in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
