Edith C. Stauffer, 85, of Monaca, went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 24, 2018. Edith was surrounded by her three children.Born August 22, 1932, in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Robert O. and Lida M. (Morris) Price. Edith was a retired employee of both Monaca and Chippewa Walmarts. She enjoyed spending time with her family, dear friends and loved attending various events of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edith enjoyed crossword puzzles and she was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. Edith was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Monaca, PA.In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert Evan Price and her husband James T. Stauffer, Sr. (Red). She is survived by her children, Linda (Dave) Wharton, James T. Stauffer, Jr., and Gary (Barbara Allerton) Stauffer; 5 grandchildren and their families, Nathaniel Stauffer; Dean (Karla) Stauffer, Tyler and Alea; Heather Wharton; Trina (Craig) Fetkovich, Haily Clear, Chloe Clear, Kylee Fetkovich and William Fetkovich; James W. (Alicia) Stauffer, Jacob, Sophia, Erica and George.Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where a service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am with Pastor Angela Smith officiating. Edith was the kind of person who left a lasting impression on you that makes it impossible to ever forget her. I will never forget her and I will think about her every day! I know there were times when my actions might have upset her but that never changed the way she treated me. She loved her family and was a devoted mother. I remember her working as a greeter at Walmart and how she welcomed Walmart shoppers every day as they entered the store. These very shoppers became best friends with Edith as they developed friendships that would last a lifetime. Your example you set will have a lasting effect on me for the rest of my life. Monaca has lost one of their most compassionate, caring, God loving, and beautiful woman.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Stauffer but I am very good friends with her son Gary. We worked together for several years and Gary shared a lot of great memories about his Mom. My condolences to all the family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing Mrs. Stauffer. The write up about Mrs. Stauffer's life, her family and all of her interests let me know how much family, friends and people in general meant to her. I wish good memories to all as you celebrate her life!
