Edward Bobish

Edward Bobish, 85, passed away in Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley, Beaver, on November 9, 2016.Born August 9, 1931 in Monaca, he was the son of the late Leon and Helena Bobish. A lifelong resident of Monaca, Ed served as Private First Class in the 25th Infantry Division, while stationed in Korea. Ed was united in marriage to the former Lois Jenkins on November 28, 1959. He worked at Colonial Steel in Monaca for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his passion was buying and repairing cars for his boys. If Ed wasn’t hunting or fishing, he could be found in his garage repairing something or making a tool to repair something.He will be sadly missed by his wife of 56 years, Lois; two sons, James (Loretta) Bobish and Kenneth (Beth Ann) Bobish; three grandchildren, Samantha McGregor, James (Dr. Emily) McGregor III, and Amanda Bobish, and several nieces and nephew and countless friends.In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Michael, Tony, Stanley and Joseph; and four sisters, Victoria, Wanda Vera, Helen and Stella.Friends will be received Saturday, November 12th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services where parting prayers will be offered at 8:00 p.m. by Father Michael Ruffalo.Ed will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver for their excellent and loving care Ed received.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.To share online condolences, get directions and other information, please visit simpsonfuneralhome.com.
