Edward George Meyers, 81, of Brighton Twp. passed away on August 12, 2021 at home surrounded by his family after battling a long illness.
He was born in Fairmont, WV., son of the late George and Mildred (Squires)
Meyers. He was married for 54 years to his wife Candice (Arnott) Meyers. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jackie H. Meyers and Robert X. Meyers,
his sister Betty L. Malone, and brother-in-law John C. Malone. Ed was a 1958 graduate of Monaca High School where he played football and
baseball. He was drafted in 1962 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas where he was a Spec 4. and played football and
baseball. Ed worked for Conrail as a Freight Conductor where he retired after 36
years. Ed was a member of both the Midland and Lawrence County Sportsmen’s Clubs, a lifetime member of the Pa State Archery Association and a member of the
American Legion in Midland. He volunteered coaching football for The Mid-
Western Colts and baseball for The Industry Cardinals.
Ed leaves behind his 3 children and their spouses: Tabatha (Brian) Anthony of Ohioville, Bill (Wendy) Meyers of Peru, NY and Cinnamon (Stanley) Hanko of
Irwin, six grandchildren: Kyle (Renee) Anthony of Columbus, OH, Turner Anthony
and his girlfriend Leah Schweitzer of Harrisburg, Connor and Hannah Meyers of Peru, NY, Sage and Zoey Hanko of Irwin, sister Jo Ann (Dennis) Kittleson of Park
Rapids, MN., brother and sister –in-laws Frank (Elizabeth) Arnott of Beaver, Ray (Terri) Arnott of Ohioville, Daron Arnott of Center Twp., sister-in-law Joyce
Meyers of Conway, sister-in-law Marcy Glaab of Daugherty Twp., along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Ed was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, competing in shooting competitions and spending time with his nephews he affectionately called “Betty’sBoys”: Terry (Opie) Malone, Jack Russell Malone and Jimmy Malone. His greatest joy was being a hockey and baseball Pap-Pap and watching his grandchildren play
the sports and activities they enjoyed.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 2-4 and 6:00 until service at 730pm, at Todd Funeral Home Inc, 340 Third St. Beaver. Ed will be buried at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies 1158 Morgan Road Bridgeville, PA 15017.
Ed’s family would like to thank all the UPMC doctors and nurses that cared for Ed
with special thanks to the UPMC Liver Transplant Team headed by Dr. Abhinav Humar.
