Edward Paul Kane, 72, of Monaca was called home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 3, 2022 with his wife and children at his side.
Raised in Aliquippa, Ed was the son of the late Edward P. and Alice L. (Gallatin) Kane. As a Boy Scout growing up, he earned scoutings highest rank of Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of St. Veronica High School, Ambridge and Salem College in West Virginia. He is an Army Veteran.
He was an employee of the former J & L Steel Corporation in Aliquippa. He also worked at Armstrong World Industries in Beaver Falls, where he retired as an inspector.
He was a volunteer with over 25 years at the Brighton Rehab (formerly Friendship Ridge), delivered Meals on Wheels and was a devout member of the Monaca United Methodist Church, where he served as Trustee, adult Sunday School teacher and on the Executive Council.
Ed leaves his beloved wife, Vicki (Snowberger) Kane with whom they would have celebrated 43 years of marriage in September. A son, Shawn Michael (Kristen) Kane of Butler and a daughter Anna Marie (Kevin) Kalamasz of Center Township. Two grandsons, Cash Edward Kalamasz (2 yrs old) and Crew Jacob Kalamasz (2 mo. old) He also leaves a sister, Linda Brandenburg of Monaca.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, July 8th at the Monaca United Methodist Church, 813 Indiana Ave. Monaca with retired pastor, Reverend David Wilson, officiating. Private interment with military honors will take place at the National Cemetary of the Alleghenies.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made, if desired, to either Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611 (Tel. 888 733 6741) or the the Monaca United Methodist Church.
The family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Kass and the entire Clinical Trial Team at Montifiore Hospital, Pittsburgh for their outstanding care and compassion during his illness.
