Edward W. Kaminsky, 68, of Monaca, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was an honorable man who cannot be replaced.Born March 27, 1946, in Fairmont, W. Va., he was a son of the late Alex and Nina (Speck) Kaminsky. Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After returning home he found employment at Westinghouse Electric (now Eaton Corp.) in the electrical production, operation and distribution department and retired with 34 years of service. He was a former member of the Rochester Fraternal Order of Eagles. Ed enjoyed golfing and painting with oils and water. He was a man with a big heart who loved to spoil his grandchildren and taught others what family was all about. He also had a great love of animals. Ed is survived by two daughters, April Davis and her husband, Edward, of Ellwood City and Jennifer Rose and her husband, Richard, of Monaca; his former wife and best friend, Marsha Smith of Freedom; six grandchildren, Brian Jacob, Michael, Jason Justice and Parker; numerous cousins and extended family and his beloved dog, Skamp.In addition to his parents Ed was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Baden.Friends will be received Thursday, March 5th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Coleman of Edgewood Baptist Church, North Sewickley Twp. officiating.
