Edwin G. Dinsmore, Jr., 75, of Brighton Township, formerly of Beaver, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 16, 2017.Born October 25, 1941 in New Brighton, he was a son of the late Edwin G., Sr. and Beatrice(Reno)Dinsmore. Following graduation from Monaca High School in 1959, he attended one year at the Penn State Forestry School-Mont Alto campus. In 1961, he became a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 115, later # 47. In recent years, he was a member of Local #449 Steamfitters and taught the apprentice classes for the union. Ed was a longtime co-owner of the family business, Reno Brothers, Inc. of New Brighton, retiring on December 31, 2001.Ed was an active member for over 50 years of the Monaca United Methodist Church, serving as a trustee for many years and co-chairman of the church’s building committee which was involved in the recent addition of the Carey Center to the church facility. With his background, Ed was the ‘go to’ person when repairs and advise were needed at the church. He was also involved in scouting as a member of Canoe Trails, Boy Scouts Post #488 of Beaver. Ed went on canoeing trips to the Canadian Wilderness as a young Boy Scout and later as a scout leader . He was a recipient of scouting Silver Beaver Award and was a member of the Beaver Heritage Foundation Edwin was married for 54 years to his high school sweetheart, Joyce(Householder) Dinsmore. He is also survived by his son, Robert Edwin (Lynn Leonard) Dinsmore and his daughter, Amy Lynn (Robert R., Jr.) Hartwick. His extra special loves were his grandchildren; Jacqueline Dinsmore, Rebecca Dinsmore(Tyler Grimm), Jillian Dinsmore, Daniel O’Brien(Brittany Erbe), Kelly Hartwick, Tracy Hartwick, Brent Hartwick and his fiance, Brittany Chambers, and Madison Hartwick. His sisters; Sally (Nick) Yewcic and Sue Lauf, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews plus a multitude of close friends whom he considered family.In addition his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his father in law and mother in law, Robert and Meryle (Campbell) Householder.Friends will be received on Monday from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Friends may also call on Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am in the Monaca United Methodist Church, 813 Indiana Avenue, Monaca with his pastor, the Reverend David Vaughn officiating.
