Edwin Lee Sims, 64 of Raccoon Township passed away Tuesday morning, December 14, 2021 at Cura Health (P.A.M. health) at Heritage Valley, Beaver following a 77 day battle with COVID 19.
Born in Washington, Pennsylvania, Ed was a son of Audrey Sims of Washington, Pa. and the late Thomas Sims, Sr. He was a graduate of Southside High School, Hookstown, class of 1975. Ed had a passion for riding motorcycles, particularly Harley Davidsons which he and his wife used to travel on several vacations. He also enjoyed deer hunting in Cook Forest, bear hunting near St Mary’s, Pa., fishing on Lake Erie and listening to country music. A career truckdriver, Ed was currently employed with Messer Gas, New Cumberland, W V
He is remembered as a good- natured person with a welcoming smile and at times, an ornery grin.
He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 38 years, Linda (Farrow) Sims, two daughters, Lindsay (Sims) Michael and her husband Andrew and their children, Kaylin and Trent and a daughter, Tonya (Sims) Battle and her children, Justice, Ripley and Bailey. Three brothers and a sister, Thomas (Gitti) Sims, LuAnn (Bill) Lewicke, Steven (Shannon) Sims and Donald (Bryan) Sims. His father in law, Carl Farrow, Sr and his late wife, Shirley. Linda’s mother, Shirley Boone, a brother- in- law, Carl (Diane) Farrow, and a sister in law, Carol (Ed) Pontis. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends will be received on Saturday, December 18th from noon until the time of services at 4 P.M. at the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca with Reverend Thomas Knowles, pastor of Christian House Baptist Chapel, Rt. #18, Raccoon Township, officiating.
