Elda E. Sebastian, 91, of Monaca, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 7, 2012, in Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford.
Born March 3, 1921, in Venice, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Giovanni and Rosa Rizzetto. Married in Italy to Joseph F. Sebastian, who was serving in the US Army during World War II, Elda was recognized as Beaver County?s first war bride. She was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. Mrs. Sebastian was a talented crocheter who made blankets, afghans and clothing for family and friends until she could no longer do so. She was a retiree of Westinghouse Electric in Vanport.
Elda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph, on June 20, 1992; a brother, Franklin Rizzetto and a grandson, Lucas Sebastian.
Surviving are three sons, Fred Sebastian of Spartanburg of N. Carolina, Greg (Marci) Sebastian of Economy and Gary (Tina) Sebastian of New Sewickley Township; six grandchildren, Amber, Jason, Stacy, Kristin, Leah and Cara; five great-grandchildren, Mattison, Anthony, Abigail, Rebecca, and Taylor. Also, a brother, Angelo (Anna) Rizzetto and their son, Luca, and a sister-in-law, Stefania Rizzetto and her daughter, Floriana, all of Rome, Italy, and a special niece, Carolyn.
Friends will be received Wednesday, October 10th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where parting prayers will be offered Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. Fr. Michael Ruffalo will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to Good Samaritan Hospice House, 3500 Brooktree Road, Suite 320, Wexford, PA 15090.
